Alberta dreamin'

Well, if I have any readers left due to my sorry lack of updates, here, finally, is something for you. I have returned from my fantastic Alberta/mountain vacation and of course, am not all that happy to be back to reality. It was stress and work that kept me from doing any blogging (or much else) before going away, so to be immersed again in that murky stew is unpleasant, to put it mildly. At least I have the mountain memories to sustain me. And I can also look back and feel proud of myself for what I accomplished while I was out there, things I never really expected of myself - climbing glaciers and mountains, hiking straight for days (one day with some big-ass blisters), canoeing across a mountain lake when I'd barely lifted a paddle before. I surprised myself again and again out west. And that's a pretty cool feeling. Here's to more pleasant surprises for me from me.
